Andrew J. Zahalsky, M.D. for U.S. Senate
The Cure for the Common Politician

Hello, my name is Andrew Zahalsky, MD.  This is the website for my Exploratory Committee.  I am considering respectfully seeking your vote for U.S. Senator from the State of Pennsylvania in the 2012 election.  Although I feel that elements in both political parties have failed to serve their constituencies and have not held true to their underlying values, I will be working within the current two-party system and will be running as a Republican.  My goal is to present a balanced, but still conservative agenda, which appropriately represents the viewpoints of the majority of Pennsylvanians, as well as the majority of this country.

As a brief introduction, you should know that I am a happily married father of three children.  I am a physician and practice oncology in Southwestern Pennsylvania.  I was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Sarasota, Florida.  I went to college and medical school at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  I completed my Residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and my Fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.  For the last eight years I have made Pennsylvania my home.  I live in a southern suburb of Pittsburgh and practice on the medical staff at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Monongahela, Pennsylvania.

The next Senate election will have extremely important consequences for the direction of our country.  The current politicians have already taken this country down the wrong path.  It is time for a Healthy Start.  We need to elect new faces with new ideas in order to turn this country around and get it off the path to destruction (huge deficits, currency devaluation, lack of productivity, and weak foreign policy).  I intend to help keep the United States of America the greatest country on Earth.

As you consider how you want this country to chart a path for the future, I feel that three major factors recommend me as worthy of your vote.  These factors are my political philosophy, my positions on the issues, and my ethics

I am a political unknown without a huge political machine to support my candidacy.  I am trying to generate grassroots support by appealing directly to the people.  Especially with the current state of the economy, it should be refreshing to see someone who can still make an impact while being fiscally conservative and not spending millions of dollars on slick advertising.  Just like I can be efficient with campaign funds, I promise to find efficiencies in government and to reduce federal spending.

You may want to search for me on the web to find out more about me.  As the Senate race progresses, more of the pages that pop up in search engines are likely to be about the Senate race itself.  Here are some links to information that was posted before I ever ran for Senate.
